Ranthambore National Park is arguably the most important and famous nature reserve in all of India. Home to tigers, leopards, crocodiles, and more, we'll have a chance to go on a safari in this diverse Indian forest. After the drive from Jaipur to Ranthambore, we'll explore the Ranthambore Fort before a relaxing evening in.
Tonight's accommodation is outside of the national park.
Settle in and scan the scenery from the convenience of a private vehicle.
Ranthambore was once the private hunting grounds of the Maharaja of Jaipur, and its rich heritage manifests itself in its many chhatris, forts, and hunting lodges that give the park its heritage status. Walk through the ruins of the old fort and take in views of the park, stopping to enjoy the sunset.

Today we head out in search of the mysterious Bengal tiger. With the opportunity to embark on a morning and an afternoon safari, grab your camera, binoculars and your Solo-ish crew for an epic day with nature.
Today's safari is in a common canter. The canters are open top vehicles that seat 24, and typically your group will be sharing the canter with other visitors to the park. Tonight's accommodation is outside of the national park.
Opt to go on another safari and try to spot even more wildlife.
Ranthambore National Park is one of the original Project Tiger Reserves. Travel through the park with its lakes, scrublands, and ruined palaces, as well as abundant wildlife including deer, birds, and monkeys. If we are lucky, we may even see one of the resident tigers.
Ranthambore gets its name from the two hills, Ran and Thambor. The Park is set between the Aravalli and Vindhya ranges. The terrain is rugged and there are rocky ridges, hills and open valleys with lakes and pools. The park was once the hunting preserve for the Maharajas of Jaipur and many royal hunting parties were held here. The park was included as one of the original Project Tiger parks in 1973. The park has seen its ups and downs, and there were times, not so long ago, when poachers were having a field day in the park. The total area of the National Park is 1334 sq km, whilst the inner core of the park takes up nearly 400 sq km. There are at least four non-government organizations that work in and around Ranthambore to ensure the protection of the wildlife and the ecosystem. These are the WWF – India; Ranthambore Foundation; The Centre for Environment Education; and Tiger Watch.
